Can anyone remember the pub just along from the Sports Shop as if heading up the hill....I used to pass it mid 70s each morning by which time it stood alone?..driving me nuts trying to remember it.... Do you find this valuable?

can you tell me where the sports shop was situated as I think it may provoke a thought as I recalled a pub heading upward to Balgrayhill rd on the side where woolworths & the record shop were & recall at time it was grey with blue tiling on outside wall with an amber glass entry Door?think it may have been the one you mention ????was Thomsons? could be wrong of course as time was changing fast by late70s I feel I can see this pub butcannot see the sports shop? Do you find this valuable?

I see sorry I got it wrong however I was online chatting with my brother last night & asked him & he took a guess & suggested it may have been The stagg or the Stagg Inn???/ Is that any closer of an idea? gee it fair get's one thinking for sure I have been wrecking my brains thinking about it,feel sure in the minds eye I can see it in front of me but buggered if I can recall it so Iam trying too hard I think LOL cheers mate thanks for the mind bender LOL Do you find this valuable?

Linda it was called the Lorne!...The stagg inn was just round the corner..on Sprinburn Road itself..the pub im talkin about was in a line with the two Edgefauld Road flats..where i later moved to for abit....we were twenty up. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I recall there was a couple of pubs in & around that area but this came to mind for me today could that edgefauld rd pub have been the Morven? or the Kelvin? Do you find this valuable?

ateve...I seem to remember the pub...we used to walk up that way to go back to school after lunch...the was a barbers and a dairy yard ther too.. Do you find this valuable?

Iam uncertain as to where this pub was but I know it existed somewhere in springburn it was red on the outside once also it was green at one time as well during the late 60s-70s,it was called The Haig unsure of spelling but feel I can see it in front of my minds eye,does anyone recall a pub of this name in springburn?

Still on the subject of pubs though in a different location. Does any one out there have a photo of the Hawthorn Bar at the corner of Hawthorn St and saracen St as my old Granny live above it for 40 odd years and the rest I think. My other Gran lived opposite the boundry Bar. Do you find this valuable?

Don't know that pub jmw212,but am' glad yer' two wee Gran's could nip in for a wee glass of Sherry when they felt the need!! Do you find this valuable?

We may have discussed this on another thread but the black and white picture of the tramcar in Hawthorne street .. looking up the way , may have your wee granny`s hose in it ????... Steve the avenue picture of the bb parade shows a pub the name showing is Brandies,could be an advert for the spirit or the name thats onthe side street all you can make out of the front is a mcewans sign. Do you find this valuable?

Neil & I had our honeymoon night in the Lion Hotel 25yrs ago come september 1st,we are returning to have a meal there when we go back in august-october. The good old Lion Hotel was also where my 40th surprise birthday party was held too usualy it is better known for it's funeral dinners though,both dad & my brothers funeral lunches were also in the Lion Hotel,so the Lion Hotel has special presidence in my life a top place filled with some of my history & emotions too.We shall have a drink to cheer you Wellfield,hey maybe we can meet you furra drink there jmw212?

I di see that one Fiona, and I can see my gran's house, it was my other Granny's I wanted to get a photo of. She lives further down Hawthorn St facing the saracen foundry just before you got to the Vogue.
