"At the intersection of Springburn Rd., Cowlairs Rd. and Vulcan St., which was called Springburn Cross, on the building of the Co-op. there was a clock and beside that clock , carved into the stonework, was the inscription "Springburn Cross".
In photographs of modern Springburn, showing the same location, the inscription seems to have been removed.
Does anyone know when and why it was removed?"

"I actually went into the NGC site.. just for fun yesterday, I wanted to look at their curriculum or see if they had any courses posted...it was kind of a wishful thinking thing as my little 'ole hubby is an English & Lit prof.... and while, most of his career has been in his own business he has taught at a number of universities and colleges state side... like I said...wishful thinking... and an exploration just for fun.... but, there has been so much talk from everyone about the schools we all went to, the teachers and how far so many have gone in life.... my husband say it all the time.... "everyone, I have ever met from Scotland.... are all wiser, smarter and far better educated than most people here" of course he speaks of people who are products of our era...
born in the 40's in school in the 50's and 60's... maybe things have changed.
Now, I love stained glass...as an Interior designer... with hundreds of clients in my own part of the country.., I have often used locals here.. lovely.... you should send some samples of your work... photos I mean....
