Yes and Scarlet Fever was a common illness then. my brother had it , my mother always told me he got it going into puddles, but i think that was just to stop me getting my feet wet doing that ver y thing. Does anybody know how you got Scarlett Fever ? Hope I havent been lied to all these years !!!!!"

"Main cause of Scarlett fever was dirty or polluted water. And if you remember a lot of our puddles in the back courts were pretty mucky...so like me Jean you would have been told not to play in puddles. "
