(cost me £200) sold it for( £3oo) and bought another one in 312 springburn rd right oppisite the kinema. My mum's family name was Sime i had an uncle Jimmy who was a coalman who lived and worked in the coal depot at the corner of Auchentochan st ihope i spelt it correctly.
My mum had other brothers Davy and Tam, she had 3 sister's Mary Jean and Harriet. Mary and Harriet stayed up the high road at the kinema and Jean stayed in Ballornock. My dad he was originaly from possilpark he was born in hawthorn st and he worked in the caley for 25 years. I have so much memories to tell i think i could write a book about it . i laughed at a story about Petershill and Ashfield about the rivaly between them it just put me in mind of my dad and my uncles the arguments were priceless.
My uncles took me to watch the cup final between the peesies and lugar boswell and afterwards the men going into Sherries pub and us kids standing outside the pub waiting for the bus with the team to come up springburn road and the team chucking money at the kids great stuff.I would like to hear from anyone who recognises any of the names I mentioned. By the way little did i know it but my future brother in law Jimmy Young was playing for petershill in that cup final i forgot to mention my grandparents they moved to elmvale st from 87 gourlay st and their names were thomas and mary sime
