Apart from the usual street games and tennis in the park down Keppochill Road, we used to get lifted over the turnstiles to see fottball at Petershill Park. I don't recollect watching the football but remember spending most of the time playing "chases" around the back of the standing area..
We also walked to Ashfield park to watch the speedway practise sessions, I don't think we paid to get in. These visits were against our mothers' rules, I remember denying that I had been there but the smell of ash from the speedway track was a give-away!

There also used to be Greyhound Racing and the Trotting down at the Ashfield as well as Speedway.
