teachers I recall from Colston 1972-5 were:

Mr Thompson maths (ran the chess club)
Mr Jamieson metalwork (decent guy)
Mr Hepburn Art (great teacher, shouted too much)
Mr Henry Art (bust a guy's wrist once with the belt..then apologised!)
Mr Taylor English (long straggly grey beard..often wandered from subject)
Mr Cumming English (i found him ok if a bit sharp
Mr Levack English (went down in my estimation for interrupting me in class trying to chat up Elaine McKinney..)great guy really.came from up north I think..
Mr Sanderson Maths...(used to take the table tennis at lunchtime i the drama class opposite the swimming pool....his jokes were terrible....Circumference and Lady Cumference..you get the drift
Mr Wilson Geography Decent guy
Miss Syme Music portrayed a fifties governess image...initially belted everything that moved..actually she wasnt very good at dishing it out..or teaching music in my view...learned nothing from her..
Mr Crawford Classical Studies....probably the best teacher in the school...talked never shouted...always had time to listen to your point of view...
Mr Black History.....had a class in A block
Mrs Duthie registration
Miss/mrs Dowie Geography
Mr Chalmers Registration/Science
Mr Wilson PE
Mr Cross woodwork

I went to Elmvale Street Primary. The only teacher I remember was Mrs. Grace. She lived in a house called "Glenelg" I think it was in Kirkintilloch. I know we all went there for some reason. Maybe it was the year we left Elmvale Street to go to secondary school. She was a lovely woman, really cared about the children. Does anyone remember her?
