I hope I'm reporting in the right spot. New to your site so you'll have to forgive me. We used to sing a song while playing doubles in the back close. I don't think it's politically correct but it was what we used to sing. Archie ball, ball, ball, the king of the Jews, Jews, Jews, bought his wife, wife, wife a pair of shoe, shoes, shoes. When the shoes, shoes, shoes began to wear, wear, wear. Archie ball, ball, ball began to swear, swear, swear. When the swear, swear, swear began to stop, stop, stop. Archie Ball, Ball, Ball he bought a shop, shop, shop. When the shop, shop, shop began to sell, sell, sell. Archie ball, ball, ball bought a bell, bell, bell. When the bell, bell, bell began to ring, ring, ring Archie Ball, Ball, Ball began to sing, sing, sing. THEN WE STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN.

husband John Gray would love to hear from anyone who can recall his old mate, David MacFarlane,
He lived in the Springburn district, cant remember the street, and sometimes drove taxis. Last seen in 1967, before we left for Australia. He would be in his 70's by now. Hope someone might remember him as John would love to hear from him. Any information please.

Hiya All,
Just wanted to comment on the lass.. with the magical voice... her face, voice and story are flying around the world on the web..and for me.. when I first heard her sing, like so many others...I was moved to tears... and when ah heard her speak... the fair flowed doon ma cheeks. She may not be a Springy..but, she does exemplify all the heart, the sweetness and the humility so, I for one wanna claim her.....but, she didna' let her dream die.. even though she spent her life caring for ailing parents..... being a wee Scottish lass from a wee toon... Ahh .. Susan lassie.... yea have ma vote... Way to Go Girl... Go Get it and fulfill all yer dreams.... God's given you a rare instrument... and I look forward to hearing much more.

Went to Albert School till June 1959. Found an old school photo of clas 1GA. IN 1957 one of them I discovered was Bunty.Lived in Springburn Park
It was a lively park then but is nothing like that now. Used to play tennis and was on the putting green quite often. I will scan the photo and have it on a new thread very soon.

Hi all, that is a great picture that we have for the "Home Page" We all know where it is,here is a question.
Can anyone remember the make and model of the 2 cars that are in the photo? I think the estate car is a Vauxhall Victor, the second car is maybe a Ford Anglia. Anyhow, that's my best guess.

Hi All,
This is Bigmacdon's son Alan. Dad talked a lot about posting to this site and all the friends he met and chatted with here. Yesterday (Sunday 4th), around 2pm, Adam passed on peacefully after a brief illness of very aggressive cancer. Thank you all for giving him many wonderful memories and chats .... Best in the new year, Alan Macdonald (pembroke529@gmail.com)
