I can only dimly remember this as a sweet shop. Correct me if I am wrong, but it was a pretty rough area by the time the off-licence was there. My brother in law is from a wee place outside Edinburgh, as well as having pretensions. Unbeknowest to us until afterwards, he had went to that off-licence and asked the guy behind the counter if he could recommend a nice wine. He was laughed out the store, all they sold was bucky and Elderado.

I remember Sellyns at the corner of sprinburn road and atlas street my dad gor his sports jacket and fannels in there just after he was demobbed in September 1945. Cant remember when it moved to where it is today.Lots of the other shops now showing bring back memories of my younger days.
