Old Films of SpringburnThis is a featured page

These 8mmm classics are very poor quality due in part to youtube compression..but they show the park, and the BB in Gourlay street
in 1953.

Views of BB parade in Gourlay Street

Again, the encoding has made a por job of this movie, but various scenes from around Springburn in 1969 (J McG)

A mazing film, brought back a lot of memories of playing in Elmvale St and Springburn Park. I was born in Stobhill, lived in Castle St, then Hawthorn St eventually moving to Elmvale St in 66/67. I lived there until Oct 71 my fondest memories being the youngest of 6 boys was playing in that park with my brothers and playing on the old plots. We had a different adventure everyday lol, thanks for your posting regards Ian Devlin, now in Cortby.
