I had heaps of neighbours whom worked in the caley namely a mr Joe Quayle & his son Jamie Quayle, some one called Doc think it was Brian dcherty was his real name then there was the McFaddens & frews all played a part of working in or around caley areas & railways.I recall the huge open day at the caley had to be in the 70s where there were wonderful displays of old antique trains etc it was amazing to see the old coaches done up all fancy in quilted buttoned seating red velvet fine woods used etc think they did that perhaps before they closed a major section of it. wow! seems like it was a dreadful loss to Springburn realy does anyone else recall the train show open day?

"As I said above my Dad worked in the Caley. He also used to organise bus runs to various places. We all used to meet at the Cathedral on High Street and got the bus to Millport, Burntisland Ayr to name but a few. He also organised dinner dances to The Loch Lomond Hotel in Balloch. " My Dad, Archie strang, also worked ion the Paint shop. I remember he went the his one and only time to Wembley, a trip probably organised by your Dad. He probably retired about the same time as your Dad. We also went on holidays in the early 50's to Morecambe with a workmate's family that I think were called McGraths.
