Hi Everyone,
This is a great idea, my name is Eddie Fox,
I was born and lived in Sprinburn from 1952 till 1966, when we moved to Govanhill, then that glorious wonderland.....Easterhouse.
We lived at 419 Keppochhill Road, right next to the Summerville Church, at Pinkston Road. I went to Keppochhill Primary, then on to Possilpark Junior Secondary.
I left Scotland in 1977, moved to the U.S.A. been here ever since.
I was home twice, in 1994 and again in 1997.
The changes l seen? unbelievable! I did visit the Springburn Museum, that was great.
To get back to the "Memories", do any of you remembr Aitkens Beer? , they had a place right between my close and the church.
they would park their trucks in a piece of property we called the coup, on Coxhill Street, boy! the knocking my brother and l did from those lorries.
How about the "lucky wagon", that was a railway wagon that was parked at Coxhill Street for rubbish from a rag works of some kind, we would go in that and rake, always you could find pennies
some of you were talking about Gourlay Street? sounds like you were somewhere close to Endrick Street? I knew a few families fro around there, the Nichols, the McLatchies, What was the name of the "P***S" on Alford Street?
Well Folks, l hope l can figure out how to send this,
hope to hear from some of you, got a lot more memories to share. Thanks,
Eddie
