This is a rerr book aboot Jean and other Springburn folk that she talked with. The author lived 'up a close' near The Princess Cinema and she mentioned 'two playmates' of her's so, being the nosey bum that I am, I phoned her in Wisconsin, U.S. of A. and inquired as to the identity of her playmates. I was happy to learn that they were my two cousins, Jean and Catherine Kiloe. It's a small, small world, especially now that we have these wee websites to unite us again, J.R.

I believe my grandfather - William Carr - was in the team that built the hothouses in
the park. I've been trying to find out the name of the Contractors but without success.
I tried the Parks Dept. but no luck - can you help?

Do you find this valuable?

Hi Folks. I am Secretary of the Friends of Springburn Park and I came to this site as we are hoping to gather folks' views, memories etc of the park for a small booklet we hope to write. I enjoyed reading all your stories of springburn and even found one of my favourite Colston teachers in here. Amazing
I will check once or twice a week to see if anyone has anything for me.
I read a poem by Harry McCormack - harrymc about the Park which was great. Does anyone know how I can contact him?
