My Dad, John Sim, was born in Springburn in 1922 and lived at 27 Laverockhall St. His Dad, also John, worked at The Caley as a brass finisher and was Match Secretary at Petershill FC in the 1930's. My Dad worked at Harland and Wolfe until joining the RAF for 5 years in 1941. After the end of the war he played football at St Roches and Kirkintilloch Rob Roy before signing for Brighton and Hove Albion in October 1946. He then moved to Chippenham in Wiltshire where I was born , the 4th of 5 kids. I have lived in Cumbria since 1980 and started researching his family over 3 years ago hence my interest in Springburn. I manage to get to Glasgow every now and then to do some more ferreting around! I have 3 boys aged 9, 14 and 16 who take up a lot of any spare time I have!
