Hi,I was brought up in SpringburnRailway Blocks,My father,and family worked in Cowlairs.I went toElmvale primary school,as my brotherJames,who now lives in NZ.I loved Springburn,and still cannot understand how the powers to be were allowed to demolish so much Social history.I now live in Ayrshire.I lived in Springburn from 1943-1953-4.

Hi Margaret ....Graham is my middle name my surname Campbell . You can look up the photo`s and you will see the Campbell family . I was born in Colgrain Terrace 1940 I knew William and John Martin John was much my age . We had good fun with Mr & Mrs Martin as all the neighbours did . Regards John

does anyone hold photo"s of the cowlairs railway? My dad worked in the railway,is there a photo of the small bridge that crossed from the railway blocks to cowlairs,I used to stand on this bridge as a child,and watch the steam trains go underneath it,and I was covered in smoke.

Hi scossie,I used to stay at ratho terrace,and loved as a child sitting on the grass embankment to see my lovely steam trains,and to get right to the action,stand on the bridge and get covered in smoke from the steam trains.My fathers name was Jimmy Forrester,and after the war,I think that he started as a linesman,then he was sent all .over the place,climbing telegraph poles.He worked for a time ,under the junction at Queen street,as a signalman,then at Buchanan house as a telecommunications technician.Can I ask ,is that bridge still there?So many lovely memories scossie.

Hi John,I think I recognise your family,I am terrible when it comes to peoples names,thankfully I remember so much about Springburn.I would be glad if you could fill me in with the names you remember.I remember a lady who stayed downstairs who was called Bella Mackfaddan,and I am sure the neighbour who stayed next door at 5 ratho terrace was called Brodie,Does your family still stay in Scotland,I now live in ayrshire.

Hi, does anyone remember Doctor Wilson,or Doctor Mckenzie,who had a surgery on Springburn Road ackross from the chemist and Co-op.He brought most Springburn babies into the world.Mostly home deliveries.I remember when you had to pay half a crown, for to see the Doctor.Doctor Wilson was a true Doctor,who did not charge for seeing him,as many of his patients could not afford the cost.He lived in a house near Springburn park

There was a Dr. Weitch i think it was spelled this way, I believe Springburn Road and Atlas Street.
