Please add any details you may wish to share .
I was born at 154 Memel Street, I had two older brothers, three sister & yours truly.
When I was about 14 years old we moved to the steel houses AKA "Tintown ". I went to Elmvale from 1944- 1951 and then to The Albert from 1951-1954 AKA The Victoria & Albert Academy especially when applying for a job !! I married in 1961 to an outsider from Possilpark!! -but we lived at 192 High Bedlay Street and have three incredible daughters - all born when we lived there- In 1970 we moved to Northamptonshire and a few years later to Canada -25mins from Niagara Falls. I must say my life was shaped by my Springburn childhood and a corner of my heart will be forever there ! I love to travel & I have been "Home " many times- next visit in 4 weeks. It does make my heart sad at the loss and devastation in Springburn I wont even venture to my beloved Springburn Park....I am a genealogist, writer of short stories, a poet. I have five grandchildren all under 12 years old. I have a son-in law who was born in Roystonhill- BUT his mum was my best friend born also at 154 Memel Street Springburn! cheers for now. Flora

I remember the swing park being called the American Swings when I lived in Crichton Steet but never ever had the opportunity to visit. Then when I was12 we moved to Crowhill Street of course I was too big and grown up to play in the swings and going to Albert "Academy" and all. Remind me where Memel Street was or is. What class where you in in 1951?
