Hi, Well I was born in Glasgow and lived in Balornock until I was 5 when I moved to East Kilbride in the mid sixty’s. Although I only lived in Balornock for a short time, my mother and her family had lived in Springburn since the early 1890’s. Most of the family worked in the railways. So with family and friends still in the area I kept in touch with how much of Springburn was going into steady decline. In 1970’s I became interested in photography and started developing & printing my own photographs. In 1977 you could see that the whole landscape of Springburn was about to change, and I decided to take a walk about one Friday afternoon & took some photographs around the area. I’ve posted these photos on the site. After a series of moves I’m now working in IT and living out in sunny Brisbane, Australia. .
