Hey, I think you're super!1
Thanks for the invitation!1

My name is Jean McCrae (nee Wallace) I was born in Millarbank Street, on the 3Oth November1944. moved when i was 4years old to Nairnside Road, Balornock where i started Primary School at Balornock Primary, I was only there for a few months and we then moved down to Kay Street, Attended Elmvale Primary and then on to Colston Junior Secondary. Got married from Kay Street in 1967. Now living on the South Side of Glasgow . I had a wonderful childhood, Kay street had a great crowd of people , we all knew each other and all the children played within the Street. Have great memories of playing on the swings and walking up to Springburn Park for picnics. I attended The Gospel Hall Sunday School in Springburn and was a member there for many years. When i left school i became a Bookkeeper in William Hodge & co. North Frederick St. where i stayed for a long time. Since joining this Site i have met up with some of my Elmvale School friends, so far there is , Fiona Taylor, Willie Davidson, Duncan Abernethy, Mary McKenzie, Helen Bain, Moira Caird, Jane McMillan , Ian Davidson and Sidney Johnstone , which i find amazing ~~we are all from the same class.! I really am enjoying being part of this wonderful Springburn Site, as I have also made so many New friends .

Hello Jean my Aunt and Uncle, lived in Kay St for many years, during the late forties and fifties.
Me and my Brothers used pop in and visit them ,when we ,went to the baths . and when I used help my Mum
at the steamy, although I had to wait outside I do 't think children were alowed in.
I can also remember going to my Uncle Toms to see his Tele, he was the first person that we knew that had one.
nice to talk to you. Bye for now Helen

It was so good to meet you and your husband yesterday at Dobbies, and catch up with news. As you see I have now joined the website, and I am looking forward to catching up with some old school friends. It will be good to keep in touch.
