My family moved to Springburn in the early forties with my dads work shifted to St Rollox He was a goods guard name of Henderson .
We lived in Fraserbank St off Keppochhill Road .It was wartime ......
I went to the local school then High Possil
but met the girls from Albert School at the guides.
Ishould add that I am no longer mobile after a active life Hillwalking ,swimming
amongst most other sports.Frustrating !!
Now I paint when given the time .

hi Elinor, sorry meant to answer your question before, forgot. I don't recognise anybody in the picture, should i? can you remember. Is that you that the arrow is pointed at. Is Ronnie Kirton in it? or any of the Skivington lads? How you today, and how is that husband of yours keeping. We've just had a day of pouring rain i got soaked walking home from work, but the sun has been out since about tea time, typical. take care, hear from you soon. Liz.xx

I have always been homesick for Glasgow that is until we retired and came here where my grannie used to come way back in the 1890's
Now I am delighted to find this site .
On another page someone said that the Sighthill flats were NOT built on Chemical waste whereas I remember playing on "Jacks Mountain" trying not to fall into that stincky mingin' pond
