i thought jacks mountain was bog land, my mother warned us not to go or our back-sides would be so sore we wouldn't sit down for a week. the cobblers was on the keppochhill road across from the graveyard in the 60's. i wonder if isabella remembers cathy the fish mongers near the corner to fraserbank street. one for elinor, did your sister get married in the cowlairs church across from agnes the fruiterers, next to that was a garage then pinkstone road then bensons pub, along from that was the butchers and along from that on the opposite side of the road was hamiltons dairy. coming down from that you had capaldi's ice cream shop auld hoose pub on that corner then the school then sandy monti's fish and chips. Mmmmm what tasty they were and lovely and warm after a cold walk home from the " barra-land " with no " lumber " to keep you warm. lol. that's what i remember.
